Who runs the library?

We are a non-profit organization, proudly run by a voluntary committee from the Newman Neighbourhood Centre, with the support of our members and their families. We are always seeking new committee members to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas for improvement. Please note, we are not a council, government organization, or private company.


What happens if we lose a piece to a toy?

If you lose a piece and are unable to find it, a replacement fee of $5.00 will generally apply. If the missing piece renders the toy incomplete, you have the option to either purchase the toy or pay for it's replacement.


What happens if my child breaks a toy?

A replacement fee will apply, with the cost varying depending on the toy.


How many toys may I hire?

You can hire up to 4 toys out at a time. The maximum checkout for any set of toys is 2 weeks.


Can my children stay and play in The Toy Library?

Yes! Your children are welcome to “stay and play” in the play area when you come to check out toys. However it is the responsibility of the guardian to ensure toys are return to original location in the library.


I can't return my toys by the due date, what do i do?

 Simply reach out to us before the return due date and we’ll be happy to renew them for you, provided they aren't on hold for another member to borrow.


I have some toys i think might be suitible for the toy library, can i donate them?

Yes, we are always grateful for toy donations, however we are unable to accept soft toys
